White IPA tasting...

Decided to give my white IPA a taste today, and see if it is done carbonating. Looks lovely, nice and pale blonde, not too clear, since it has wheat in it, but not full-on cloudy like a Hefeweizen. The head (despite a vigorous pour) was still a bit fragile, so I'll age it a bit more before crashing the bottles. more...

Bottling Nuclear Winter White IPA...

Today was bottling day for my newest recipe: Nuclear Winter White IPA. Since this was another small batch (2.5 gallons), I was able to fill fourteen 12-ounce bottles and six 22-ounce bottles, with exactly enough for the last bottle. more...

New recipe: Nuclear Winter White IPA...

A couple weeks ago, I was over at a friend's house, and had a quite wonderful beer: New Belgium's Accumulation White IPA. I was taken aback by the wonderful flavour, and quite impressed. I hadn't had a white IPA before, it's actually a fairly new style. Basically it is based on a whitbier style, but with the hop-forward and dry-hopped elements of an IPA. Wonderfully refreshing and cool tasting, and quite drinkable. Probably will be a good summer beer, as most wheat-based beers are. more...
