OK, so I've been throwing away my spent grain, because it seemed like too much hassle to actually find someone to take it off my hands. Silly kelly, we have the internet!

I posted on NextDoor.com here for my neightborhood, as I was mashing the grains for my Plague of Kali, asking anyone with chickens or other livestock if they'd like my spent grains.

Within about 15 minutes, I had a reply from someone two blocks away who has chickens!

I dropped them off at her place around 5:00pm, and she insisted that I take some eggs. Being a fan of home-farmed eggs, I naturally acquiesced, and she gave me three eggs. She said her chickens would be very happy, and that it was the least she could do to repay me for 12 lbs of spent grain...

I love it, I now have a means to barter for goods in the event of a zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, or the inevitable robot uprising...

(Glossing over, for a moment, the fact that organic grains and hops would be rather scarce in such an event... Hey, don't burst my bubble!)
