Bottling the Pale Ale

Second brewing project for the day: bottle the first batch (which is a variant on my Dragon's Breath Pale Ale). Actually drank a small glass with dinner! Still young, and a bit cloudy, hope it clarifies during bottle conditioning.

Final Gravity of 1.011 (although this hydrometer is a bit faulty, I've subsequently replaced it with a better one)...

A pint of boiled bottling malt (dry malt extract), cooling in a water bath...

22x 22oz (650ml) bottles. Ideally I'd get 28-29 bottles from a 5g (19l) batch, but I intentionally left a lot of beer in the primary fermenter when I racked for bottling, because I didn't want to suck up any of the trub (lees)... Being extra careful, since this is my first batch in like 20 years...

Ah, a taste test! Not bad for a very young beer (and given how many mistakes I made in the process)...
